“Are dogs allowed in the village?” It’s one of the first questions many people ask of our sales specialists.

The good news is RCA Villages understands that pets are part of the family.

Our pet policy welcomes four-legged residents, and also allows them to be replaced if an older dog passes away.

Here are some good reasons to adopt a rescue dog.

You'll save a life

When you adopt a rescue dog, you're very likely saving that dog's life. This is an incredibly rewarding experience.

The shelter will have room for another dog

Not only are you giving a home to one dog, but you may save the life of another by making room in the shelter. When you adopt, the shelter has room for one more.

You'll save money

Adopting a dog is much more affordable than buying a dog from a pet shop or breeder. You’ll save money not only on the cost of the dog, but on vet care.

Most rescue dogs have already been chipped, de-sexed and vaccinated, which can save hundreds. And you’ll feel good knowing the cost of your dog will help another while they wait for their forever home.

You'll help reduce the pet population problem

When you buy from a pet shop, you create a demand for more puppies. When you adopt, you're giving a home to an abandoned dog and preventing the need for additional breeding.

Rescued dogs are already house trained

Some rescued dogs are raised and trained in foster homes, which means the dog has already been exposed to house training.
